Meet Frank.

There's a question that every growing company in Norway eventually has to answer: how do you get good legal advice without paying like you're a publicly listed company?
For most, the answer has been some version of "you don't." You call a big firm when something goes wrong. You get solid advice, a week later than you needed it, at a price that makes you think twice about asking next time. Or you skip the call entirely and hope for the best. Neither option is great, but both are widely accepted.
We started Frank because we've been on both sides of this. The people behind Frank are the same ones who built professional service companies like Amby, and founded and scaled the law firm Molteberg Nilsen. We know what it takes to scale a company, and we know what it's like to deliver legal services.
We've been the ones sending the invoices, and we've been the ones opening them. And we kept seeing the same thing. Day-to-day legal advice is locked inside a model that doesn't work for the companies that need it most.
The issue with getting legal advice today comes down to the service model. Hourly billing that punishes you for asking questions. Engagement models designed for companies with dedicated legal departments. No real transparency around what things cost and why. The entire structure was built for large corporations, and everyone else has been expected to make do with a version of it that doesn't quite fit. We didn't think that was good enough. So we built something different.
So what is Frank, exactly?
Frank is an embedded legal partner for growing Norwegian companies. We cover employment law, contract law, privacy and compliance, and corporate law. The work you actually need done, week in, week out.
But the model is what matters. We don't operate like an external firm you call when something breaks. We become part of your team, working inside your operations, understanding your context, and responding in minutes and hours (not days). You see every hour billed, every cost, before it hits an invoice.
Think of it this way. Frank is inside counsel for companies that can't justify, or don't want, a full in-house legal team. You get legal counsel from senior advisors who already know your business, and backed by technology that keeps things fast without cutting corners.
Who is this for?
If you're a founder or CEO running a company under 100 people, and you need legal input regularly but can't stomach the cost or friction of a traditional firm, this is built for you.
If you're an HR or legal lead at a company of 100 to 500 people, stretched thin and handling too many requests with too little resource, we're designed to work alongside you.
You shouldn't have to choose between proper legal guidance and keeping your runway intact. That's a false trade-off, and it's one the industry has gotten away with for too long.
Why this matters beyond Frank.
The legal industry has operated on information asymmetry for decades. Clients don't know what things should cost. They can't easily tell whether the advice they're getting is good, average, or overkill. They pay because they have to, not because the value is clear.
That's changing. Technology is part of it. New delivery models are part of it. But mostly, it's a shift in expectation. The companies doing the most interesting work in Norway right now, the ones growing fast and making decisions every day, they expect their partners to keep up. To be present. To be clear about what they charge and why.
Frank is built for that world. Not as a disruption for its own sake, but because this is what the legal industry should have looked like all along.
One more thing.
We called it Frank because the legal industry never has been frank enough. It’s usually riddled with surprise invoices, jargon, and distance. We want to shake that up by and give you the advice you need, when you need it, at a price that makes sense.
